Prospects Short Breaks

Prospects services are developed in partnership with our users / carers to ensure they are relevant and tailored to meet individual needs.  We encourage and support users to embrace independence and, wherever possible, we provide our services within a mainstream, inclusive environment.

Short break and respite care services
Our fully accessible residential home provides planned short breaks for young people with disabilities and complex health needs; this includes physical, sensory and learning disabilities.  Our home is unique in combining 24-hour care and personal support with a programme of activities, and excursions.  Service users will appreciate the relaxed, fun atmosphere which ensures our breaks are enjoyable by all. 

Bespoke care packages
We cater for virtually every type of disability and our dedicated team of staff will put together a bespoke care package suited to your client’s individual needs.  We offer a range of short break care packages including
    ·     Holiday package
    ·     24 hour short break package
    ·     Day respite package
    ·     Half Day respite

Holiday Package
Our holiday packages provide a range of activities, including:
    ·         residential care (own room) for the duration of the holiday 
    ·         full care team provision 
    ·         agreed educational activities and life skills 
    ·         planned recreational / social holiday activities 
    ·          transport to and from home 
    ·         'family support services'

24 Hour Short Break Package
Prospects 24 hour package includes:
    ·         residential care (own room) 
    ·         full care team provision 
    ·         agreed educational and life skills activities 
    ·         transport to and from home

Day Respite Package
Residential respite and short breaks for one day, for which we:
    ·         manage all care and medical needs 
    ·         fulfil any educational needs 
    ·         handle all mobility / transport issues

Half Day Respite Package 
Flexible and emergency respite care - Minimum 4 hours (morning or afternoon).

Community-based activities
We provide a wide selection of outcome-based activities in an inclusive environment. Service users have a choice of regular excursions and activities throughout their break.  We are putting together a range of themed breaks, providing the chance to explore particular community-based interests such as sporting events, art galleries and wildlife.

Accreditations and inspections
We are inspected and accredited by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW). Experienced nursing staff is on call and many care staff have gained, or are studying for, NVQs in Care. All volunteers are given prior training and are required to pass Criminal Records Bureau checks.

To book a service, simply follow the instructions given on the relevant page. We offer flexible arrangements to suit the needs of individual clients and local authorities. We can accept direct payments and organise local authority contracts.
